General Director of Kosovo police Mr. Shpend Maxhuni, hosted in a meeting the representatives of the Association of Journalists of Kosovo

Prishtinë, 28 March 2017

            Today, on 28 March 2017, the General Director of Kosovo Police, Mr. Shpend Maxhuni with his staff, hosted in a meeting the head of the (AJK board) Mr. Shkëlqim Hysenaj and Mr. Petrit Çollaku investigative journalist at AJK.

Mr. Shpend Maxhuni initially thanked the representatives of AJK for their visit and during the meeting he informed the people present about the engagements, activities, objectives of Kosovo Police about the cooperation and transparency on Media. 

In this meeting, among others the people present were notified that Kosovo Police is ready to closely cooperate with AJK at any field, which aims to further increase of mutual cooperation which is already happening with all information offices of KP and media in general.

Director Maxhuni informed the AJK representatives that Kosovo Police already proved itself of being professional and prepared to provide safety for all the citizens of the country in general and especially for the journalists.

Mr. Hysenaj thanked Kosovo Police, in this case Director Maxhuni for the host and at the same time informed him about engagement of the association of Kosovo Journalists for a regional project “Freedom of Media and Security of Journalists” since the beginning of 2016 including the findings and recommendations arising by this report.

The AJK representatives at the same time required that Kosovo Police treat with priority the cases of attacks or threats against journalists and to cooperate with justice bodies.  

During the meeting, conducted in the facilities of the General Police Directorate, Mr. Maxhuni and Mr. Hysenaj committed for the mutual cooperation even in the future, including the meetings or joint trainings which will affect positively into all cooperation aspects, Police-Media.
