Prishtinë, 29 August 2017 – Today at about 12:30, we have received information that the person S.P, male, 30 years old, who has been treated in the Intensive Care Unit in KCUC has died.

The victim was injured seriously in the traffic accident which occurred on 22th of August 2017, in the highway Prishtina – Podujeva, exactly in the Sibovc village of Podujeva.

The victim’s body was taken to the Forensics Institute for autopsy by the order of the State Prosecutor.

Based on the Road Traffic Unit data, the number of victims in traffic accidents since the 1st of January so far in the Prishtina region reaches on 22 persons.

Therefore, seeing  these figures concerning, we require from all the traffic participants to respect all the traffic rules, in order to collectively impact on decreasing the number of accidents, mortality in the traffic road and consequently to increase the traffic safety level.

One person dies in traffic accident, four others injured

Prishtinë, 22 August 2017 – Today at about 07:00 in the highway Prishtina – Podujeva, exactly in the Sibovc village of Podujeva municipality has occurred a traffic accident where, as consequence a person has died and four other were injured.

In this accident, there have been involved two vehicles, the vehicle of type“Kia-Sportage, white colour” and a transportation van, both of them with plates of the Republic of Kosovo.

As a consequence of this accident, the victim:

 A.S. male 20 years old, citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, has died from the injuries. The victim’s death was ascertained by the medical team at the scene. 

The victim’s body was taken to the Forensics Institute for the autopsy, while the other injured persons (two of them in serious health condition) were taken for medical treatment to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo in Prishtina. 

The investigators of the Regional Traffic Unit are investigating regarding the consequences and circumstances of this event. 

Seeing the large number of traffic accidents as concerning and especially the number of victims from fatal accidents and the injured persons, we ask all the traffic participants to strictly respect all the rules of traffic road, in order that we collectively impact on reducing the number of traffic accidents, mortality in traffic accidents, and to increase the traffic safety level.
