On the 6th day of September 1999 OSCE mission in Kosovo in compliance with United Nations Mission Resolution 1244 has made the establishment of the Police School and commenced with the training of the candidates for Kosovo Police Service members.
The First Generation of the candidates for KPS members has commenced with training in this center on 6th day of September 1999. This generation counted 176 service members who have successfully completed training and commenced with the practicing police duties in the entire area of Kosovo as first members of this service. It is a new established force on the basis of professional and democratic police force. A service that is open and equal to all interested for becoming Kosovo Police Service members.
Training in the Police School is a training with high level standards and it includes: Code of Police Conduct, Applicable legislation in Kosovo, Crime investigation, evidence collection, Interview methods, democratic policing and it is mainly focused on the regulation credibility and democratic law, use of firearms, forensics, and evidence, Traffic control etc.
Upon the successful completion of the Training in the Police School KPS members continue with the Field Training Programs in local stations with certified Trainees.
