Kosovo Police, respectively the units of the Task Force-East, in cooperation with Kosovo Customs, assisted by the border surveillance station – SPMK Muqiverca, in the framework of measures to prevent and combat illegality and smuggling, have intensified police operations and tactical field controls along the border line between the Republic of Kosovo and Serbia.

In the evening hours of 23.06.2025, police units, during surveillance operations, identified a tractor with an improvised trailer, illegally entering from the village of Tërrnoce – Bujanoc (R. of Serbia) in the direction of the village of Hodonoc – Kamenicë (R. of Kosovo).

During the search in the yard of an uninhabited house in the village of Hodonoc, owned by N. P, an improvised trailer was found, which according to the data turns out to be the property of the suspect L. I, a resident of Hodonoc.

In the presence of the suspect, during the search it was found that the trailer was loaded with goods – specifically decorative trees. The smuggled goods were destined for various citizens within the territory of Kosovo and were equipped with labels prepared for distribution through the local post office.

According to the data obtained, the quantity of goods consisted of about 220 decorative trees, with a total value of about 7,000 euros, not including customs evasion resulting from smuggling.

Regarding the case, all actions were taken in coordination with the State Prosecutor’s Office, by whose order the trailer together with the goods was seized and sent to the customs terminal, for further legal procedures.

Kosovo Police, in cooperation with competent institutions, will continue its efforts in prevention of various criminal activities.
