Kosovo Police conducts a Joint international operation “Marewood”

Prishtinë, 21st of July 2025
Kosovo Police, respectively the Border Police Department, within the framework of its police cooperation, has been part of the police operation called ‘Marewood’, a joint international initiative between the Kosovo Police, the Albanian Police and the anti-crime structures in the United Kingdom (National Crime Agency & Border Force).
This police operation has resulted in success, where last week customs officials, in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, at the Pristina Airport, detained a person who during the control was found to have 9845 undeclared pounds in paper banknotes, which customs, after calculating the exchange rate, has confirmed to be around 11385 (eleven thousand three hundred and eighty-five) euros.
Such cooperation and operations will continue, as their goal is to crack down on the transportation of money, especially that intended for financing criminal activity (money laundering), prevent the trafficking of weapons and drugs through border crossings, and curb illegal migration at land, air and sea borders.
