Kosovo Police (KP), through this official press release, informs the public regarding the circulation and distribution through various e-mails of some unofficial (false/fake) information, which allegedly belongs to Kosovo Police and various organizations, this information was allegedly issued by senior officials within Kosovo Police and at the same time clarifies that:
This information sent by allegedly high-ranking KP officials, named “INVITATION/IMMEDIATE ARREST”, issued as highlighted in the e-mail by senior management staff of KP, the Kosovo Cyber Security Agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National Cyber Crime Police and the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), etc., which were allegedly issued for the purpose of notifying the designated party as stated “You have 24 hours to report to police headquarters, cybercrime department, are NOT official documents of Kosovo Police, much less issued by senior officials within KP, but they are forged emails/documents for use for specific purposes.
Kosovo Police, as a law enforcement institution, in cooperation and coordination with the justice authorities, after obtaining information about the circulation of such e-mails/information, began intensive investigations, engaging the competent police units, with the aim of investigating, verifying and detecting the perpetrators of this criminal offense.
Kosovo Police informs and at the same time invites citizens not to fall prey to such misinformation/fraud and anyone who may receive such an e-mail/document should address it to the official address of KP
