The 2025 election-runoff process is assessed to have passed peacefully and without serious incidents

Kosovo Police successfully implemented the operational plan envisaged for the smooth conduct of the 2025 election-runoff process, which aimed to provide security, maintain order, tranquility and public safety in the country before, during and after the election process, in all municipalities involved in the runoff.
Assessed in terms of security, the election process up to this stage has passed peacefully and without serious incidents. The engagement of police officers in implementing the police plan, as well as inter-institutional cooperation and coordination, has had a positive impact on ensuring that the entire election process passes peacefully and without major incidents that would have hindered or violated the election process.
One of the goals of the police plan was to initiate and prosecute any criminal offense against the right to vote and to take all procedural/criminal measures against anyone who violates the laws of the country, which sanction illegal actions against free and democratic elections.
Kosovo Police, in close cooperation and coordination with the State Prosecution, has initiated two (2) criminal cases, one in Fushë Kosovë “Giving and receiving bribes in connection with voting”, where two persons were arrested, and the other in Klina “Violation of the secrecy of voting”, where one person was arrested. The persons arrested by decision of the competent prosecutors have been taken into custody.
Also, around fifty-one (51) cases of information of various natures related to the electoral process have been processed, for which the competent prosecutors have assessed that there were no elements or evidence related to criminal offenses and have been recorded only as information.
Kosovo Police assesses that the police plan has been successfully implemented as a result of good operational planning and the work of police officers, as well as proper inter-institutional cooperation.
Kosovo Police thanks the citizens for the cooperation and high culture shown throughout the entire 2025 run-off electoral process.
