The Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption (DHKEK), specifically the Gjilan Regional Unit, in cooperation with the Basic Prosecutor’s Office of Gjilan, conducted investigative actions, managing to provide reasonable evidence that the suspect A.Z., acting contrary to his legal authorizations and by abusing the official duty, enabled persons/transporters I.M. and J.A., to illegally transport wood which is suspected to have entered illegally from the territory of Serbia to the Republic of Kosovo.

It is suspected that, abusing his official duties, the person A.Z. had stamped the trees and had illegally issued respective letters.

Persons I.M and J.A. after the interview, they were released in a regular procedure, while the suspect A.Z. by the prosecutor’s decision, he was detained for 48 hours.

The Kosovo Police remains committed to fulfilling its legal and constitutional duties, and bringing before the justice the suspects who are in violation of the law.
