General Director Mr. Samedin Mehmeti hosted in a meeting the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Lisa Johnson

On Friday, July 22, 2022, Deputy Assistant Secretary (DAS) of State Lisa Johnson from the Bureau of International Narcotics Enforcement & Law Enforcement Affairs met with the Director General of the Kosovo Police and the senior command staff to discuss ongoing partnership efforts between the two nations.
DAS Johnson and the Kosovo Police General Director discussed the progress of the rule of law in Kosovo, continuing challenges and recent successes in combatting the manufacturing and trafficking of narcotics in the region, corruption and other crime trends Kosovo is facing. These leaders also discussed an upcoming pilot program which will equip selected Kosovo Police officers with body worn camera systems with a plan for Kosovo Police to fully equip the department in the upcoming years.
“This meeting was extremely positive and it illustrates, once again, the strong bonds and partnership between the law enforcement communities in Kosovo and the United States. Together, we again show the world the various areas in the profession of policing in which the Kosovo Police continues to evolve and strengthen their abilities to protect and serve
all people in Kosovo. The Kosovo Police will continue to work tirelessly to strengthen the already fantastic cooperation and international relations with our global partners, particularly with INL and ICITAP, to whom he is grateful for the continued support, “said GD Mehmeti at the closing of the event.
The visit was concluded with the signing ceremony for the donation of a new secure communications system that will be used by investigators in the field.
