The Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs visited the border crossing point in Vermica

Today, on 20.03.24, in our country there was Mr. Todd D. Robinson, Assistant Secretary of State for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), who made an official visit to the border crossing point in Vermica.
During this visit, Mr. Robinson was hosted in a meeting by the General Director of Kosovo Police, Colonel Gazmend Hoxha, the Chief Executive of the Police Inspectorate, Mr. Kushtrim Hodaj, the Director of the Investigations Department, Colonel Agron Nezaj, and the Director of the Border Department, Lieutenant Colonel Fehmi Xhata.
First of all, Mr. Robinson was closely informed about the police engagement in fighting trans-border crime, narcotics and human trafficking, as well as with the border crossing and vehicle control procedure that is carried out at this border point, and in particular about the detailed control of vehicles which is done with sophisticated equipment as a donation of INL.
In addition, Director Hoxha informed Mr. Robinson in detail about the terrorist attack that occurred on September 24, 2023 in the north of the country, more precisely in Bajnska in Mitrovica, and at the same time thanked him for the visit and the continuous support with donations that INL has done and are doing for the Kosovo Police. While Mr. Hodaj from the IPK informed about the realization of the successful anti-corruption operation coded PIKA, he also thanked Mr. Robinson for his support to the IPK.
On the other hand Mr. Robinson was satisfied with the hospitality and information received, for which he thanked Director Hoxha, Mr. Hodaj, Mr. Nezaj and Mr. Xhata, and assured them that INL will continue with unsparing support to the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo.
