Mitrovicë, 10 June 2016

                Under the
motto ’’Be part of Kosovo Police’’, the Regional Police
Directorate in Mitrovica, today hosted pupils and youth of RAE community, in
Mitrovica.

          This
visit was realized within the implementation of the joint project of the NGO ’’Mundësia’’,
which began weeks earlier, with the aim of raising awareness of the minor
communities, about the role of Police and police functioning.

          The
group of 30 pupils were hosted by the regional director lieutenant colonel
Nehat Thaqi, who presented activities of the joint project for raising
awareness and encouraging the youth, and he expressed his readiness that Kosovo
Police will continue to be always close to citizens, in the aspect of providing
public safety as well as promotion of positive values for a healthy and
educated society in the future.

          Besides
the meeting, the process of the visit continued notifying pupils about police
work, work spaces in the police facility, in the communication center, unit of
quick reaction, the administrative operational system, and forensics. At the
same time police officers provided information about the everyday police work,
as well as elementary knowledge about emergency calls, sending the information
on time in the field of prevention etc. Also children have been notified about
rights and responsibilities of juveniles in relation to police officers.

Pupils during the visit reflected
satisfactory knowledge about the work, role of Police in the security field, as
well as the importance of joint approach to contribute in public safety.

          On
the occasion of this visit all pupils have been given gifts with police symbols.
