World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims

The third Sunday of November marks the World Day of Remembrance of Road Traffic Victims. This day marks the remembrance of millions of people who die in traffic accidents, but also for supporting of victims family members. Traffic accidents for years now are not only a challenge for society of our country, but a major global concern, which in most countries of the world is the biggest killer of people.

The activities on the occasion of the World Day of Remembrance of the Road Traffic Victims are performed by the Kosovo Police, OSCE, College of the Applied Sciences ‘Tempulli’ and KUSA.

The agenda of activities includes:

Thursday, date 17th November 2016 – In all media, electronic and printed, interviews will be given, where except the discussion of the history of this day, weekly activities will be launched during this week.

Friday, date 18th of November 2016, time 10:00 – 16:00 – At the square “Zahir Pajaziti” a day of blood donation for the persons injured in road traffic accidents is organized.

Saturday, date 19th of November 2016, time 17:00h – lighting of the candles in respect of victims who lost their life in traffic accidents. Presenting video-films for awareness rising for the participants in traffic.

Sunday, date 20th of November 2016

Time 10:00 – 16:45 – International conference dedicated to the World Day of Remembrance of the Road Traffic Victims, with the representatives of the local, regional and international representatives.

Time 17:00 – Participants of the conference together with the citizens will march at the main Square in the Prishtina city.

“On this day of remembrance we should stop not only to remember the victims of road traffic, but also to sensitize the public that no accident was coincidence and that the safety of life in road traffic must not be left to spontaneity”
